Dr. Trevor T. Miranda O.D.

Dr. Miranda was raised in Simcoe, Ontario and graduated from the University of Waterloo with his Doctorate of Optometry in 1995. Following graduation, he moved to beautiful Vancouver Island, where he continues to serve the eye care needs of the Cowichan Valley. Trevor is also an active member of the Third World Eye Care Society and has participated with other professionals to improve the vision of the less fortunate.

Outside the office you will find Trevor enjoying hockey, coaching soccer, involved with the South Cowichan Rotary Club, and spending time with his wife Cheryl and their three children. Trevor looks forward to continuing to care for the eyes of the Cowichan Valley and welcomes new patients without referral.

Dr. Miranda is available for appointments Tuesday to Friday at South Cowichan Eyecare.

Dr. Anita Voisin O.D.

Dr. Voisin grew up in Waterloo, Ontario, and graduated as a Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 1997. She practiced in Oshawa, Ontario for 2 years prior to joining Trevor Miranda at South Cowichan Eyecare (formerly Mill Bay Eyecare). In June 2000, Anita also began providing Chemainus with comprehensive ocular health examinations in our newly opened Chemainus office. Anita strives to improve the quality of life of each of her patients, and enjoys educating local organizations on the importance of eye health. She continues to be actively involved in the community with the Chemainus Chamber of Commerce and Chemainus Rotary.

Dr. Voisin is dedicated to serving the vision needs of the Cowichan Valley and welcomes new patients at either location.

Dr. Voisin is available for appointments Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at Chemainus Family Eyecare as well as Monday, Thursday and the 1st Saturday of the month at South Cowichan Eyecare.

Dr. Carla Clarke O.D.

Dr. Carla Clarke graduated from Simon Fraser University with a degree in Kinesiology and continued to pursue her optometry doctorate at the University of Waterloo. Following graduation, Dr.Clarke practiced on the North Island for a year, and is delighted to have returned to the Cowichan Valley to add her optometric experience to the South Cowichan Eyecare team.

Carla looks forwards to welcoming new patients without referral at both clinic locations.

Dr. Clarke is available for appointments Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at South Cowichan Eyecare.

She is also available the first Monday of the Month as well as Thursday at Chemainus Family Eyecare.

Dr. Megan Polack O.D

Dr. Megan Polack O.D

Dr. Polack was born and raised in the Cowichan Valley and is pleased to return to the area to practice optometry. Megan completed three years of science studies at the University of Victoria, followed by four years at the University of Waterloo to obtain her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2011. In her free time, Megan enjoys horseback riding and travelling. She has participated in an eye care mission to the Philippines with the Third World Eye Care Society and hopes to join future missions.

Dr. Polack looks forward to providing comprehensive eye exams for patients without referral at South Cowichan Eyecare as well as at our new clinic, Lake Cowichan Eyecare.

Dr. Polack is available for appointments Monday, Thursday and the 3rd and 4th Saturday of each month at South Cowichan Eyecare as well as Tuesday, Friday and the 1st Saturday of each month at Lake Cowichan Eyecare.

Position: Licensed Optician - South Cowichan Eyecare

Alisa started working for Trevor in 1999. She is a Licensed Optician and has been in the optical field since 1987 and brings tremendous experience and expertise to the office. As the office manager Alisa ensures that the staff is properly trained and educated and oversees the overall running of the office. During the day Alisa can be found performing a variety of duties whether it is in the lab, in the dispensary, assisting the doctors, or meeting with sales reps. She loves to meet the patients needs, whether it be colored or disposable contacts lenses, new frames or sunglasses. Alisa attends yearly conferences or seminars to further upgrade in a constantly changing and growing field. Alisa is well liked by the staff and has a great sense of humor and keeps the office fun and enjoyable.

Lauren comes to South Cowichan Eyecare with a background in marketing and customer service. She joined us in 2001 and loves her job. She is very interested in learning about advanced technology especially regarding ocular diseases and enjoys the opportunity to share and educate her knowledge with patients. Lauren could be the technician in our lab who checked your lenses and edged them into your new frame. With patience and excellent customer service, Lauren is always ready to assist in adjusting current glasses, or helping you select a new updated look to suit your needs.

After graduating from Frances Kelsey Secondary School and pursuing a degree in Environmental Sciences, Kirsten has returned to the beautiful Cowichan Valley.  She divides her working days between South Cowichan Eyecare and Resonance Hearing Clinic next door, letting you know you're due for your next Ultimate Eye Exam, taking retinal scans with the Optomap, helping you protect your hearing and everything in between!  Kirsten spends her free time enjoying sports, including curling and softball, outdoor activities, reading, volunteering, traveling, and listening to music.

Roxanne is a licensed optician who moved to B.C and joined our practice in the spring of 2008. With her vast knowledge and experience, she was able to transition easily into our fast-paced environment. Roxanne is not only an expert on her knowledge of lens technology, but her attention to detail and care for our patients makes her a welcomed addition. If she is not assisting you with your choice of frames and lenses, she can also be found hard at work edging lenses into frames and/or training you on your contact lens requirements.

Kelly joined Chemainus Family Eyecare in February 2004. Her experience in retail sales has been a huge asset to our practice. Kelly shares our vision in educating the community of the importance of good vision and routine eye examinations. Kelly performs a variety of duties including reception, pre-testing, dispensing and assisting with your spectacle needs. Kelly says the satisfaction you feel when someone puts on their new glasses for the first time is very rewarding. Position: Receptionist - Chemainus Family Eyecare

Shelley started with Chemainus Family Eyecare in November of 2008. She has lived in the Chemainus Valley for over 35 years is married and has three children. Before joining our team, Shelley worked as a hairdresser and then a florist and brings a flare for design to our office.  Shelley believes that the training and education she receives is very important part of her job in the always changing field. You can usually find Shelley at reception in our office but she is also trained to do pre-testing and dispensing.  Shelley enjoys helping the patients, whether it is to pick out frames for a new look or talking to them about their options for contact lenses.
